Update: After trying suggestion, it sounds a lot better! Turns out I had to turn off bluetooth after executing his solution and then turn back on. Update 2: I CAN SKIP TRACKS AND REWIND FROM MY HEADPHONES WITHOUT OPENING ITUNES!!
Okay, this is an insane moment. Whenever I use ANY control on my headphones, Apple tries to open up iTunes. Since updating to macOS Sierra, I've experienced the worst bluetooth headphone performance. I have a pair of Wireless Powerbeats 2, Wireless Powerbeats 3, and Beoplay H7 headphones and Harman Kardon speakers. This issue is consistent across all headphones; however, it does not exist when I connect those same headphones to any of my other devices.
Additionally, when I switch the Beoplay H7s to corded mode, they perform just fine. At this point, it's become frustrating enough to impede the usability of the OS and I'm considering downgrading to El Capitan. I've seen this issue brought up elsewhere on the net, but it appears marginal. I wanted to post here and see if anyone else is having this issue or I should try some alternate troubleshooting before just rolling back to Capitan. Edit using Spotify.
